In keeping with its mission to educate the whole child and his/her family, the Center offers:
The counseling team also provides crisis and hospitalization assistance to parents as needed.
During the first week of school, all new parents are invited to the Center for breakfast, an informational talk by administrators, introductions to staff, and a chance to sit in their child's morning circle/meeting activity to meet classroom staff and other students. We strongly encourage parent networking so parents can support one another. Such connections can also facilitate play dates among friends and classmates.
Under extenuating family circumstances, the Center´s social worker may assist families in finding in-home respite care. Financial arrangements are made directly between the staff member and the family.
Several times a year we offer Family Nights Out, when families can leave their Phoenix Center child with our staff and go out for the evening. Light supper and activities are provided for the children. On Family Nights Out parents may opt to stay at the center for a Parents' Support Group. Siblings Support Groups are also provided.
Partners in Caring (PIC) is the Center´s home-school association. PIC is an active and involved group of parents whose fund raising efforts enhance the students´ program. Each year, this active group sponsors fund raisers to support student assemblies, special classroom items, and the Centers’ Staff Appreciation Day in May.
